In April, hundreds of thousands of football fans traveled to Kansas City to see the Chiefs and other teams make their draft picks. Leading up to the event, our Heartland employees put their General Manager hats on and put skills to the test, our employees to the test to win their very own Ultimate Draft Experience.

Our Heartland associates would be awarded points for completing specific tasks for three months.  The top-performing associates who accumulated the most points after the incentive would win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Round Draft Packages, including access to the Coca-Cola Fan Zone party at KC Live for themselves and a guest. “Opening up this incentive to every Heartland associate was important as each department’s work is critical to our success,” says Director of Commercial and Customer Marketing Mandy Meyer. “The Ultimate Draft Experience incentive was a good way to kick off 2023 and get the business off to a fast start for the year.”

Employees outside sales could win points by completing tasks that helped drive our success and supported our company’s mission and values, such as submitting a qualified LEAD, utilizing Heartland Honors, completing their Safety Training on Time, and interacting on specific Yammer content. Our front-line sales associates’ points were awarded based on having the highest growth percentage in Gross Profit and Volume with sparkling, Smartwater, sports drinks, Gold Peak, and Energy, as these areas support our 2023 commercial framework. Over 70 Heartland associates were awarded for their hard work with a draft experience like no other. As for Christina Dollins, our South Hometown Area Sales Manager, who was one of three lucky winners of the Grand Prize 1st Draft pick experience, she described the week as unforgettable. “From amazing food, entertainment, and VIP experiences, a moment or detail was not missed. We stood at the front of the stage while the draft picks walked out, and for someone like me who enjoys football, you have no choice but to walk away a superfan, and without a doubt, I understand this week was a once-in-a-lifetime experience!” Hard work pays off, and there is no better feeling than providing our associates with memories that will last a lifetime through unique, second-to-none experiences.
