In Kansas City, our team has created a special relationship with the nonprofit organization KC Pet Project. The work this organization does is imperative for the Kansas City community. KC Pet Project has 14 different locations in Missouri and Kansas. In addition to providing sheltering and animal services, they are the largest no-kill animal shelter in the KC metropolitan area.
Heartland Hounds was created as an ongoing community partnership with KC Pet Project to support their work. Throughout July, our Kansas City hometown spearheaded several impactful initiatives with the organization. Every Friday during the month, our team spotlighted a different furry friend on our internal/external channels who needed a forever home. In addition, our team also covered all the adoption fees for each spotlighted pet. Back at our Distribution Center, our team also held a donation drive to collect items for the shelter. Our Production team also raise $500 to donate to the organization. To wrap up a successful month, our team also offered volunteering opportunities for employees to get involved directly with KC Pet Project by giving their time. As a result of our team’s ongoing efforts and commitment to working with the KC Pet Project, Heartland Hounds was awarded a kennel and plaque with our name on it at the shelter. This is a special honor, and our team is proud to be able to continue to support the work of the KC Pet Project.
