At Heartland, safety is paramount, and we’re committed to ensuring that every employee operates with the highest level of expertise and caution. That’s why our Safety and Learning and Development teams recently embarked on an essential 8-week process to recertify all positions that operate powered industrial truck equipment.
This recertification process is not just a formality—it’s a crucial OSHA requirement and a vital step forward in our ongoing commitment to workplace safety. Over the eight weeks, we recertified over 1500 employees across various roles, including merchandisers, drivers, sales professionals, warehouse employees, and select leaders.
The equipment covered in this recertification effort includes high-loader pallet jacks, walk-behind powered pallet jacks, ride-along pallet jacks, and forklifts—all essential tools in our organization’s daily operations. To ensure every employee is proficient in operating this equipment safely and efficiently, we’re taking proactive measures to mitigate potential risks and uphold our safety standards.
Moreover, this initiative will provide valuable insights into any gaps in training or certification across our workforce. By maintaining a balanced approach to certifications and recertifications, we can continuously improve our training programs and ensure that our employees have the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their roles.
We are grateful for our employees’ dedication and commitment to safety. Together, we’ll uphold the highest standards of excellence and ensure a safe working environment. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to safety and professionalism at Heartland.
