Since the launch of our Commercial Driver’s License program in March, 25 students have completed the 5-week program and are now CDL Drivers for Heartland. With this program being so new, our CDL team has been working with the Safety team to identify problems and putting in corrective training to alleviate those issues. But ultimately, the success of this program has been through the roof and has opened doors for new opportunities! Our CDL team has been able to bring people with restrictions on their CDL license into the program to see how we can work to get those restrictions lifted so they can become full drivers. We have also added Small Market Vehicle Training, Train the Trainer Program for Lead and Senior Drivers, and new hire training for drivers with less than a year of experience. We are excited to see what 2023 holds as we continue to provide our employees with the resources and tools to help advance their careers.
