Every year, The first Saturday of December signals the start of the holiday season in Williamsburg, KS. The small, tight-knit community enjoys a day full of seasonal festivities and holiday cheer featuring Santa, better known as Bruce Rockhold, our Kansas City Account Relief Specialist. The day starts with a reading with Santa at the Williamsburg Community Library, where Bruce serves on the Board of Trustees. For the past seven years, Heartland has had the pleasure of donating glass Santa bottles for the kids to enjoy. Later in the afternoon, Santa participates in the Williamsburg Holiday parade along with numerous floats and parade-goers. After the parade, the entire community travels to the Williamsburg Community Building Club to enjoy a soup dinner. At the event, Santa gives each child a Coca-Cola bottle and a bag of candy with an apple and an orange provided by the Williamsburg Service Club. Bruce loves playing Santa each year because it brings him a joy to see all the kids so excited. Recently, Bruce’s mother passed away but it always brought her happiness to see him play Santa and help their small town with this big event.  Thank you, Santa, or Bruce, for helping spread holiday cheer to the small community with a big heart.
