March Madness isn’t just alive in the NCAA, but it’s also happening in Special Olympics. Every year, Special Olympics Illinois State Basketball Tournament takes place in March. Only the top teams qualify to participate in this extremely competitive tournament. A group of Central Illinois Heartland employees had the opportunity to volunteer during this year’s tournament. They spent the day keeping stats, running the scoreboard and keeping the game clock. The event was fun and extremely rewarding for athletes and volunteers alike.
